Human Googles

These 10 library employees have a very unusual job title. Fielding 30,000 calls every year on the mezzanine level of the New York Public Library, they pick up the phone and will personally answer any question you ask — no automated responses here! Whether callers just can’t find an answer or have no access to the Internet, these dedicated helpline workers answer everything from the bizarre to the comical — but most of the time, these “human Googles” believe that many callers just enjoy having someone to talk to.
