True community policing

We often think of police officers as distant “law enforcers,” but for officers such as Steve Wick of the Houston Police Department, it’s a personal calling. As head of the homeless outreach division in Houston, Officer Wick spends hours of his day interacting with the city’s homeless population — not trying to make arrests, but attempting to improve their lives and in turn, improve the community. This video showcases his soft touch and serves as a wonderful example of “people-first” police work.

Awesome!
